With its advanced hybrid system combining a 1.5L internal combustion engine with a 100 kW electric motor, the MG3 Hybrid+ delivers the joy of pure electric driving alongside the benefits of gasoline power. The 1.5L engine produces 75 HP at 6,000 rpm, while the electric motor generates up to 100 kW (136 HP). The 1.83 kWh battery supports a classic automatic transmission (3-speed – 4, 5, 6).
Next-Generation Hybrid+ Powertrain System
MG’s Hybrid+ propulsion technology debuts with the new MG3 model, marking the first conventional non-plug-in hybrid system in an MG vehicle. At its core are five key components: engine, transmission, battery, electric motor, and generator. The MG3 features a 1.5L gasoline engine delivering 75 kW and a 100 kW electric motor, alongside a separate motor-generator. This setup enables a wide range of powertrain operating modes, offering top-tier performance figures for a B-segment hybrid hatchback while ensuring versatile operation in all driving conditions.
